Paul Broca

(1824-1880)

Surgeon neurologist born in Sainte Foy la Grande. Specialist in the brain, it there discovered the zone of the language in the third left frontal convolution known as convolution of Broca and reported the driving aphasia of the foot of this convolution (aphasia of Broca) . He was one of the Masters of modern anthropology and founded l'École and the Revue d'anthropologie.
