Jean Guiton(1585-1654) |
Born in La Rochelle, it follows the occupation of ship-owner there. He becomes mayor of La Rochelle and, at the time of the seat of this city, he opposes an energetic resistance to the troops of the king Louis XIII. Then, Richelieu gave him a command in the royal fleet and it fought the Spaniards. One of his daughters married the son of famous Abraham Duquesne.
